Scholarships – Public College Samana

At Public College Samana, we understand the financial challenges that some students may face while pursuing their education. To support deserving students, we offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid programs. These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance and promote academic excellence, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Types of Scholarships Available:

1.AICTE – SWANATH SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The college also facilitates access to scholarships, such as:

AICTE has approved ‘AICTE – SWANATH SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME’ for children from any one of the following categories:
1. Orphan
2. Either or both parents died due to Covid-19
3. Wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed)
4. Parent is suffering from critical life threatening disease (Like cancer etc.) /Died or severely disabled (above 80%) in accident (as per RPwD Act 2016) to provide them financial support of Rs. 50,000/- per annum for every year of study through National Scholarship Portal (NSP)

2.AICTE SARSWATI SCHOLARSHIP :

A scholarship scheme from AICTE for meritorious girls students perusing BBA/BMS/BCA Courses in AICTE Approved Institutions. The main objective of the scheme is to encourage girls students to pursue UG degree in Management & Computer Application Courses from AICTE approved institutions.

3.CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS :

• These scholarships are awarded to students who have excelled in their academic performance in the previous year.
• Eligibility: Students with high marks in the university exams (typically 85% and above) are eligible for merit-based scholarships.

4.GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP:

The college also facilitates access to various government scholarships, such as:

1. Post-Matric Scholarships for SC/ST students.
2. Other Backward Classes (OBC) as per the guidelines set by the Government of India.
3. State Government Scholarships for economically weaker sections.

5.SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP :

• Public College Samana offers sports scholarships to students who excel in sports and represent the college at the university or national level.
• Eligibility: Students who have demonstrated exceptional skill in sports and have participated in competitions at the state or national level.
• Award Amount: Scholarships can cover a portion of tuition fees, as well as provide allowances for sports equipment and training.

6.SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD:

• To encourage female students to pursue higher education, the college offers special scholarships for female students.
• Eligibility: Single Girl Child

7.Sarbat Da Bhala Scholarship:

Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, managed by Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, provides scholarships to meritorious, economically weaker, orphans, and handicapped students. Applications are typically submitted through affiliated colleges or directly at their zonal offices. Key focus is placed on students scoring above 80-85% or those in specific need.

Key Details for Scholarship:

Eligibility: Meritorious students from economically weaker sections (EWS), orphans, or students with disabilities.

Target Group:  Undergraduates, and Postgraduates.

Required Documents:

• Previous class mark sheet (80% or higher usually required).
• Income certificate for EWS.
• Death certificate of Father and Mother (if applying under orphan category). 
• Current Year Fees Slip
• Voter Card/Aadhar Card
• Passport Size Photo 1
• Six month Bank Statement of Father and Mother

How to Apply for Scholarships:

1. Application Form: Students can apply for scholarships by filling out the Scholarship Application Form available on the college website or from the Scholarship & Financial Aid Office.
2. Documents Required:
   • Proof of academic performance (e.g., mark sheets).
   • Family income certificate Current Year.
   • Proof of participation in sports (for sports scholarships).
   • Any other supporting documents as required by the scholarship type.
3. Selection Process: Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, or sports achievements, depending on the type of scholarship. An interview or written test may be required for some categories.
4. Scholarship Renewal: Many scholarships are renewable for the subsequent years, provided the student maintains a minimum academic performance as specified by the scholarship criteria.

Important Notes:

• Deadline for Application: Students must submit their scholarship applications before the admission deadline or as per the dates set by the college for each academic year.
• Limited Availability: Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, and depending on the availability of funds.
• Disbursement: Once awarded, the scholarship amount is directly applied to the student’s tuition fees or, in some cases, issued as a monetary award.
• All SC/ST eligible students will get the scholarship according to State/Center Govt. guidelines.
